The
camera should be added to one camera in the normal way so that the camera is
managed by only one NVR. The camera can be added to other NVRs by RTSP in
customer protocol. Then the NVRs are able to access to the live view stream of
the camera, but they would not have the access to manage the camera.

NVR works as management device for the network cameras and is
able to manage and set the parameters of the network cameras added to it.
Once a network camera is added to the NVR, the NVR would acquire
the all parameters of the camera, including resolution, bandwidth, image
settings etc. Motion detection of camera is turned on automatically and the
arming schedule of all events is set to all-day. These works to guarantee that
camera is able to respond to event configurations on the NVR.
The NVR would synchronize the time of the camera every 10
minutes. If the camera is directly added to iVMS-4200 or iVMS-5200, the VMS
shares the same management authority to synchronize the camera. If the time of
the VMS and time of the NVR is different, the VMS and NVR would synchronize the
camera in turn. Therefore, the camera should not be added to VMS directly when
it is already added to NVR. The correct operation is to add the NVR to the VMS
and configure the camera though NVR.
If the camera is to be configured, the parameters should be
configured on the NVR instead of the camera web component or VMS. If the
parameters of camera are changed on the camera directly, they would be
synchronized by NVR later.
In the NVR local configuration interface – Recording Parameters,
there are two sets of parameters, one for continuous recording and the other
for event recording. The event recording parameters can only be configured in
the local interface and cannot be found on NVR web interface. When an event is
triggered, the recording parameters of the camera would be set to the event
recording parameters. When no events are triggered, the continuous recording
parameters are applied. The event recording parameters can be different from
the continuous recording parameters in max. bitrate and frame rate. If user
doesn’t need the event video with different frame rate or max. bitrate compared
to the continuous video, the event parameters should be the same with
continuous parameters.
Note: Some customer may find that the frame rate or max. bitrate
of the camera is sometimes changed on the camera web interface and consider it
to be a bug. This might be caused by the configuration of the NVR’s event
recording parameters. In most cases, the camera would not be able to change its
parameters by itself.
